This is the story about most adventure and dangerous Hike I went at this time.
Got idea 💭 Want to spend year end 31 st night and year beginning 1st morning @ any rock camping 💚
Normally this Doowili Ella Trip scheduled 3 days.First day night rest at near village (RATHKINDA).But we go with out rest 1 1/2 day hike.I achieved my target.And 3rd day I went Rivers ton,Pitawala Pathana and Sera Ella.

LOCATION IDENTIFICATION
Knuckles Doowili / Dovili Ella දුම්බර කඳුවැටිය දුහුවිලි ඇල්ල lies in the middle of Knuckles Range and there are 3 access routes to the waterfall.
1. Begin from Atanawala Village
2. Begin from Lebonan State
3. Begin from Illukkumbura Village
Its a hikers dream and a tough hike more than 15 Kms. Doowili ella consists a set of waterfalls which has approximately 12 cascades.This waterfall water streams shape like dust (Doowili),So that's why waterfall called Doowili / Dovili Ella.There has small cave behind the highest water stream of Ella.This destination most suitable for
adventure hikers,because this is the longest wild trek of Sri Lanka.
Walpolamulla වල්පොළමුල්ල வல்பொலமில is located in
"Walpolamulla" village Matale,Sri Lanka.When you going Doowili Ella
and Manigala Hiking you across this beautiful paddy feild. Knuckels Mountain
Range seen from Walpolamulla Paddy Feild. Doowili Eli and Thunhisgala Peak Seen to paddy field.This
huge paddy field made by one person.That's amazing story.Now in this population
is 0. Villagers move to near villages because of wild Elephants attack on 2002
year.Now they went to Walpolamulla village only for harvesting.This destination
most suitable for adventure hikers,because this place locate on 3/4 of longest
wild trek of Sri Lanka.
Manigala Rock මානිගල කඳු
මුදුන மணிகல உச்சி is
located in the Knuckles Mountain Range.1100 m above sea level .After traveling
apporoximately 4 Kms from Atanwala Village ,we will be able to reach the trail
head.The highest peak known as "Koth Karalla". Seen Atanwala and
Rathninda Paddy fields from Manigala Peak.Farmers estimate time look this rock
(sun light ) when they doing cultivate. And also can seen Sudugala kanda,Doowili
ella,Thunhisgala,Riverston, Pathana.
Pitawala Pathana පිටවල පතන is a
unique grassland found in the Knuckles Conservation Forest, Sri Lanka. This
pathana has a great ecological value.This grassland is situated by the side of
the Rattota - Illukkumbura road in Matale district.An easy nature trail of
about 0.75 km takes the visitor to Mini World's End,(1250 feet in depth) which
is a deep escarpment situated at Pitawala Pathana. It resembles a small version
of the world famous World's End in Horton Plains. This place grants a panoramic
view of the Knuckles Range and some of its valleys below. The designated nature
trail leads the visitors easily to the escarpment. From there it is possible to
walk along to the rock extrusion which allows one to walk right up to the edge.
Sera Ella සේර ඇල්ල is a waterfall located in
Pothatawela village, a place near Laggala in the Matale District of Sri Lanka.
It is formed by the waters of Kitul Canal which runs down Kaudagammana peak and
the Hunumadala River, which flows from the mountains of Gonamada and Deyuthu
Gammmaduwa, combining to form the Puwakpitiya River, a waterway which joins Thelgamu
Oya to create the waterfall at its point of joining.
Riverston බට දඩු දුර්ගය in Sri Lanka can be
reached by travelling, about 30km away from the Matale town, down the Matale –
Girandurukotte Road. V.H.F. Station is located in Riverston.

CHALLENGES & EXPERIENCE
😲 Only for Duwili Ella hike guide said want to 3 days with rest,but we go 1 1/2 day.Climbed and get down 6 rocks
😲 He told before normally we want to start a trip at 6.00 a.m. and we can arrive to duwili ella cave at 5.00 p.m.,but we start our hike at 11.30 a.m. and we arrive our destination at 6.30 p.m.(7 hours - 16 Km)
😲 After 1st hike (16 km - 8 hours)start to second hike to Manigala with out my friend Malith.(8Km - 3 hours)
😲 This is the first hike of my friend's Malith,so it is another challange,because his first hike is long distance dangerous trekking.
😲 1st Day Treking 16 Km by foot (5 km with 2 back packs,rainy situations), 2nd Day 24 km by foot (6 km with 2 back packs), 3rd Day 6 Km by foot in 45 min (rainy situations,running)
😲 Approximate 35 leaches beat me.
😲 Cross the Duwili Ella Waterfall

Weather as it’s impossible to reach the Fall if it rains.
- Feel
your hike ,but carefully when you take photographs and
selfies. Because when you adjust your photo frame you could not
may be remember where you here.
- Be Careful from snakes,elephants,leechers and poisonous plants (
bring soap,Sidalepa,Wear Shoes/boots to cover your feet,Anti-leech
socks)
- Villager's
said there is angry wild elephant.But we coludn't saw it.But we saw
elephant poop.
- Check
Weather as it’s impossible to reach the Fall if it rains.(Bring rain
courts and bag rain covers )
- Don’t
Litter. ( please put them in to your bags and bring again)
- Everyone
should be mentally and physically strong and should understand each other
well.3 traveler team is good.
- Best
season seems to be April to August. December season is
rainy.But can see Duwili Ella with full of water.From

- April the route is cleared by forest department and red marks are in the path, but take a guide from Village.
- Please don't write anything to stones,Leave only foot prints.
- In Matale town has 3 bus stands,So be carefully when you finding buses,1. Nugagaha Stand (matara,colomb,nuwara,etc) 2. Abagahalaga Stand 3.Gongahawela Stand (Rathninda,Atanwala,illukkubura,etc)
